We don’t think there is anyone as beautiful and as glamourous as Cate Blanchette. Everything she wears is spectacular. She is a gem. She is beautiful and intelligent and talented. Love that dress too! xo

An Education – In Style

Posted in Asymmetrical Dresses by Catherine Baird on January 5, 2010

Have you seen the movie An Education? It’s a fantastic movie that takes place in the sixties of a young (and incredibly smart) girl who falls head over heels for a playboy. He takes her to Paris (!) to fun jazz clubs and to classical music concerts. The styling of this movie is fantastic. Much like that of Mad Men. The lead actress Carey Mulligan seems to be all the rage these days as a result. Check out the beautiful feminine dress she wore in one scene in the movie. We adore it. She looks like Audrey Hepburn.

Badgley Mischka Black and White Goodness

Posted in Black & White Dresses by Catherine Baird on January 3, 2010

We’re huge fans of black and white dresses. We love wearing black, but we always wear black. And sometimes, we’re just too frightened to wear all white. And so as a result our closets seems to be full of black and white (and the greys in between): stripes, polka dots, you name it. But we love this Badgley Mischka dress from the Spring 2010 lineup because the detailing is so random. The horizontal lines are like a new twist on the Parisienne french stripe (thank you Coco) and the collar looks like it could be an elaborate necklace (wish I had a closeup). We like that it’s also not too mini; a very classy dress indeed. Well done! What would we do to be able to wear this dress for just one evening?  Anything. Check out other gorgeous designer things in black and white.  xo

I {heart} Diane von Furstenberg

Posted in Asymmetrical Dresses, Coloured Dresses by Catherine Baird on January 3, 2010

I have recently fallen in love with the cute dresses of Diane von Furstenberg. Check out this gorgeous pink leather number. It looks like it would never change shape and you would look fabulous all night long. I think it might also look good on just about everyone. I’ve noticed Angelina wearing lots of leather lately. What do you think? Is the pink overkill or killer?
